UALC Accepts Award at Best of State Gala

Donna Jones Morris, Director, Utah State Library, accepted the medal and certificate of achievement on behalf of the Utah Academic Library Consortium (UALC) for Utah's 2009 Best of State in the category of Educational Institution or Service. The Awards Gala was held at the Salt Palace Ballroom on May 30, 2009. The Education category winners included:

UALC Co-Sponsors Institutional Repository Conference

UALC, along with Utah State University and Berkeley Electronic Press, is co-sponsoring an upcoming institutional repository conference at the Merrill-Cazier Library on the Logan campus of Utah State University. Institutional Repositories: Disseminating, Promoting, and Preserving Scholarship will take place Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The keynote speaker will be G. Sayeed Choudhury (Associate Dean for Library Digital Programs and Hodson Director, Digital Research and Curation Center, Johns Hopkins University) Other IR topics to be explored include IR platforms (Digital Commons, Fedora, CONTENTdm), Creating Managing, and Marketing an IR, and a glimpse into the possible future of both IRs and university digital publishing.
