The Utah Academic Library Consortium has won Utah's Best of State in the category of Educational Institution/Service. The announcement was made May 4, 2009.
The Best of State Awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah. According to Governor Jon Huntsman, "Best of State recognizes those who are excelling and surpassing all else and who are the best of the best in their respective fields."

Judging was based on three criteria:
(50%) Achievement in the field of endeavor.
(30%) Innovation or creativity in approaches, techniques, methods or processes.
(20%) Contribution to improving the quality of life in Utah.

UALC and other category winners will be recognized at the 2009 Best of State Awards Gala in the Grand Ballroom of the Salt Palace on Saturday, May 30th. More information on the Best of State Awards can be found at www.bestofstate.org
